A Touch of Sophistication
Walking into Kuro Kin Japanese Dining is not unlike any bar restaurant in Roppongi, Japan. The restaurant lives up to its name (Kuro Kin literally translates as Black Gold); a cover of black envelopes the restaurant, broken only by touches of gold and white glow illuminating the dining area. The air is thick with Japanese sophistication, yet the bar and sushi counter is strangely inviting.
Founder Mr Dennis Teo explains that the color black encompasses their sincere professionalism in their craft, the way they create their food, while gold represents the grandeur of the dining experience. Traditional Japanese dishes reinvented with a modern twist, Executive Chef Joson Chew embraces in the purity of the ingredients. From ingredients down to sauces are flown daily from Japan to ensure freshness, as Chef Joson brings out the unadulterated flavors, minimalistic, and without distractions.
Serving up a host of dishes ranging from Sashimi, Sushi, Agemono, Yakimono, and Nimono, diners are spoilt for choice. A popular opening dish, Pitan Tofu (century egg beancurd), a silken beancurd topped with century egg and fish roe invites your palate for a sensory explosion. For sashimi lover, Sashimi Moriawase offers a bowl of the freshest assortment of the daily catch, but for those looking for something earmer, be sure to try the Saga Wagyu Yaki; tender, juicy cubes of Australian beef with homemade apple sauce. Other not to be missed dishes are Ebi Tempura, Gindara Moriawase, Golden Salmon Roll, Truffle Inaniwa Udon, Soft Shell Crab Roll and Suchi Moriawase.
